John Marion Carter, Jr., 71, of Crossett, passed away on October 11, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.
He was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University where he earned a master’s degree. He was an U.S. Army veteran, a city engineer and a member of the North Crossett First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and bird watching.
Mr. Carter was born on November 1, 1943 at Crossett and was the son of the late John Marion, Sr. and Lucy Inez McCone Carter.
Survivors include one son, Kip Carter (Tiffiany); a step-daughter, Johnna Sharp; a brother, Buddy Carter (Belinda), all of Crossett; a sister, Gaius Lynn Blackburn of Ft. Smith; a grandson, Bryson Kip Carter and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on October 16 at 10 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
