John Obie Keith, 68, of Eudora died on July 13, 2016 at Lake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center of Lake Village.

He was a member of North Star Missionary Baptist Church in Eudora, and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He was horseman and ranch hand for Mr. Darryl Shuller in Eudora for many years.

Mr. Keith was born September 29, 1947 in Eudora and was the son of the late Flemon Keith Sr. and the late Nellie B. (Hill) Keith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Flemmon Keith, Jr., Elbert Keith, James Keith, Amos Keith, Melvin Keith, Overton Keith, and Samuel Keith; five sisters, Dolly, Velma Keith, Oriline Owens, Jane Ellen Logan, and Mable Mays.

He is survived by two sons, Mark A. Keith of Eudora and Jeremy A. Keith and wife, Jennifer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter, Lajohnda Keith of Eudora; two sisters, Helen Johnson, and Robbie Bell; a granddaughter, Jenesis Cambree Keith; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Wake will be held on July 22 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bethune Funeral Service in Eudora. Funeral services will be held on July 23 at 1 p.m. at the Ministers Institute in Eudora. Burial will follow at Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Eudora.
