John Wesley Bullard, 91 of Star City, passed away April 22, 2014 at Lincoln Heights Healthcare in Star City.
John was born November 20, 1922 at Hickory Ridge and was the son of the late Grover Clarence and Pearl Mae Baxter Bullard.
Mr. Bullard lived in the McCrory and Bald Knob areas of Arkansas, farming and raising cows for many years. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Bullard moved to Star City in 1998 to be closer to his family. He lived on his son, Eddie Bullard’s farm, except for the last seven months, when he received wonderful care Lincoln Heights. He was known by all his family and friends in Star City as “Papa John”. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Letha Reeves Bullard; his parents; his two sons, John D. Bullard and Eddie Bullard; grandson, Lance Bullard; four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Skye (Bo) Hatcher of Star City; two grandsons, Jason (Kristal) Bullard of Star City and Jerry (Teresa) Bullard of Pecos, Texas; great grandchildren, Samantha Hatcher, Matthew Hatcher and Fallyn Bullard, all of Star City, Weston Bullard of Texarkana and Kallie Bullard of Pecos, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him in Star City.
Graveside services will be held April 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Star City with Bro. John Marlar officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Pallbearers are Jason Bullard, Bo Hatcher, Kyle Sibert, Kristopher Sibert, Truett Owen and Thomas Fish.
