John William “Johnny” Jarrett, 66, of Monticello, passed away on March 18, 2019 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
He was born on January 25, 1953 in Lake Village to the late Ezra Earl Jarrett and Margaret Morrison Jarrett.
He was of the Baptist faith, and attended First Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Monticello.
Johnny will be remembered for his loving heart and kindred spirit toward his friends and family members. He was an avid sports fan, a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan and season ticket holder for many years. He loved to read, especially World War II books and the Bible.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Jarrett and Tommy Jarrett; two sisters, Janice Jarrett Barlow and Betty Jarrett Hartness.
Survivors include two brothers, Sonny Jarrett and James Jarrett, Sr. and wife Margaret, all of Monticello; one sister, Linda Johnson and husband Phil of Monticello; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will follow at the Tillar Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
