Johnny Ronald Meeks, 75, of Star City, passed away on February 9, 2020 at Lincoln Heights Healthcare.

He was born on March 29, 1944 in the Butler Community (Lincoln County) to the late John Floyd and Mable Deweese Meeks

Mr. Meeks was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church near Star City. He was a 1962 graduate of Star City High School and a 1965 graduate of Draughan School of Business in Pine Bluff. Upon graduating business school, he went to work for Byrds Manufacturing Company. He worked for three different companies in that building for over 50 years, finally retiring as the human resources manager at School Apparel on January 28, 2018.

Mr. Meeks enjoyed collecting glass and antiques and going to yard sales and estate sales.

Survivors include his brother, Lannie Ray Meeks; special cousins, Jennie Rauls, David, Karen and Jillian Rauls, all of Star City; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m. at at Griffin Funeral Home in Star City. Bro. Don Borland will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday, February 11 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Holly Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mike Bostian, Shane Holloway, Roger Wynn, Doug Brockman, Reid Robertson and Tim Whipple. Honorary pallbearers are Merwin Fowler, Joey Ratterree, Mike Henley, Kenneth Brockman and Charles Capps.
