Joseph B. Harper

Joseph “Joey” B. Harper, 57, of Star City, passed away December 12, 2021 at UAMS in Little Rock.

He was born March 14, 1964 in Greenville, Mississippi, where he was delivered by his grandmother at The King’s Daughters Hospital.

Mr. Harper was a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was a mechanic for the Lincoln County Road Shop.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Harper, Sr.; brother, David Lee Harper, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Joseph Byrd Harper, Sr. and Margie Harper; and maternal grandparents, Joseph David Eubanks and Iva Eubanks.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia Ann Eubanks Harper of Star City; daughter, Alicia (Stacy) Bolen; two sons, Jonathon (Amber) Gibson and Steven (Joni) Kesterson, all of Star City; and seven grandchildren, Gage Bolen, Brandon Williams, Kadence Gibson, Zander Gibson, Karlie Kesterson, Kayne Kesterson, and Addison Bolen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Cody Andrews officiating. Visitation is Tuesday, December 14, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rowell Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Phillip Atkins, Mario Palmerin, Bob Henry, Thomas Turner, Mark Garrison, Jeff Ratterree, Randall Dutton, Jimmy Harris, Don Owen, P.R. Harrison, and Charlie Carmichael. Honorary pallbearers are the county judge and co-workers.
