Joy Carolyn Sasser, 72, passed away on December 21, 2013 at her home.
She was born on December 12, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Cecil and Joy Watson.
She was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church, the Adult Sunday School Class and previously taught a Women’s Sunday School Class. She received an Associate Degree in Business from South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado.
Her employers over the years included Tri-State Mill Supply and First National Bank but she eventually retired from Felsenthal after 10 years of employment, a job she truly loved.
She enjoyed reading, shopping, and as her girls were growing up, she enjoyed making them matching dresses. She loved the Lord above all else and her children and grandchildren. If you were to ask her what was the most important thing to her, she would say, with out a doubt, that all her family would come to know the Lord and be saved.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Sasser, of Crossett; two daughters, Debbie Sharp (Bruce) of Crossett, and Shelly Diestel (Jim) of Fort Worth, Texas; and three stepchildren, Carla Christian (Bill) of Germantown, Tenn.; Scott Sasser (Donna) of Crossett and Jason Sasser of Crossett. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Cecilia Lamb (Charles) and Gay Jackson (Larry); four nephews and one niece.
A praise service will be held on December 24 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. David Tohlen and Bro. Eric Hodge officiating. Interment will be at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chris Lamb, Zack Jackson, Aaron Jackson, David Rice, John Hammonds and Steven Sharp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Henry, Joi Adair and Phillip Sharp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Home Care www.hospicehomecare.com.
