Joy Jones Rankin, 90, of Lake Village, passed away on March, 29, 2015.
She was a pre-school Sunday school teacher for many years and was married for 30 years to the late H.F. Rankin until his death.
Mrs. Rankin loved to travel and spent time working in Elko, Nevada at a delicatessen. She loved to cook, quilt and sew. She also loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith. She often witnessed to others. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca.
Mrs. Rankin was born at Lavaca on March 28, 1925 and was the daughter of the late A.A. and Mittie Stubblefield Jones.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rankin was preceded in death by her sister, June Jones Thomas and her brothers, Ralph Jones and Guy Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Jolene Beasley and her husband, Doug of Lake Village; stepson, Eddie F. Rankin and his wife, Joan of Mathis, Texas; sister-in-law, Ruth Holt Jones of Mountainburg; two step-grandchildren, Dixie Lytle of Beeville, Texas and Allan Rankin of LaPort, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Visitation will be held April 3 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lake Village Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held April 6 at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca with Rev. David Rhodes officiating. There will be a visitation from 10-11 am before the funeral, at the church. Burial will follow at Tate Cemetery near Lavaca.
