Juanita F. Workman Hilburn, 86, of Tillar passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 14 at 11 a.m. at the Jefferson Cemetery in Winchester.
Juanita was born in Pottsville, Arkansas on December 11, 1933, but celebrated her birthday each year on December 19. She and her late husband, Johnie “Cowboy”, were married for 62 years. They were long-time restaurateurs, including owning and operating Cowboy’s Restaurant, which was known for its delicious hushpuppies. They were also farmers, parents of four children, and members of the Richland Baptist Church.
Other than her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Vera Edna Workman; a daughter, Peggy Hood and her husband Ronnie; a son, Johnie; and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Ronald Hood. She is survived by a sister, Sharon Kay Lyttle and Paul of Russellville; two sons, Jimmie Hilburn and his wife Cindy of Monticello, and Tommy Hilburn and his wife Kathy of Monticello; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the Arkansas Baptist Home for Children, 150 Hyatt Court, Monticello, Arkansas 71655.
Rev. Bill Hilburn will serve as the officiant for the graveside service. Pallbearers are Trent Sullivan, A J Hood, Jared Hilburn, Brian Ramsey, Jonathan Hilburn, Cody Hilburn, Larry Williams, Lynn Murphree, Wayne Hilburn, and Randy Sanders.
