Juventina “Tina” Ely (Benitez Caballero), 79, of Crossett, passed on December 13, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, with her daughter at her bedside.
Tina was born in Honduras on May 20, 1942 and was a resident of Crossett for many years. She loved being outside surrounded by nature. She loved to be where there was warm weather and loved shopping and traveling with her family for any occasion.
More than anything, Tina loved her family and enjoyed cooking tamales each Christmas with her granddaughter. God was an important figure in her life as she thanked God each and everyday not only for blessings in her life, but in the lives of her family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Ely of Crossett; two sons, Jesus Benitez and Oscar Benitez; a grandson, Manfredo, and six siblings.
She is survived by four children, Rosa (Russ) Hornbeak, Doris (Frank) Erazo, Irma (Chris) Noguchi, Grant (Lauren) Ely; 16 grandchildren, Juan (Rikki) Galdamez, Kenia (Bo) Yelverton, Kristy (Matthew) Dillard, Jose (Silvia) Contreras, Brenda Contreras, Nadia Contreras, Henry Benitez, Lisseth Monge, Oscar (Amanda) Benitez, Jennifer Benitez, Julia (Julio) Camacho, Kate Ely, Conner Ely, Eden Ely, Tyler Noguchi, Brayden Noguchi, and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Balbina and Mercedes.
Visitation will be Friday, December 17 from noon until 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Kevin McDaniel officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery in Hamburg.
Pallbearers are Bo Yelverton, Juan Galdamez, Matt Dillard, Frank Erazo and Grant Ely, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer is Russ Hornbeak.
