Karen Dial Boykin, 63, of Johnsville, died on June 22, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

She was a nurse instructor at the South Arkansas Community College for many years and was a 1975 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she received a nursing degree. She was a member of the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Boykin was born on August 22, 1953 in Star City, and was the daughter of the late Pearl Jackson Dial and Helen Frances Reeves Dial.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abby Marie Boykin; a brother, Terry Dial; and a sister, Janice Lewis.

She is survived by her husband, Buddy Boykin; a son, Sean Boykin and wife Heather of Sheridan and their three children, Reece Boykin, Jack Boykin and Suzanna Boykin; a daughter, Shannon Pope of Johnsville, and her four children, Cadence Harrelson and Camden Harrelson both of Orange, Texas, and River Pope and Ridge Pope both of Johnsville; and a sister, Deana Conner of Star City.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 25 at 4:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Warren with Revs. Buddy Boykin and Reuel Cruce officiating. Burial will be at Palestine Cemetery in Johnsville under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren.

Pallbearers are Jon Barber, Tony Boykin, Dillon McEntire, Andrew Wheeler, Kyle Conner, and Kurt Conner. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Paul Hollingsworth, Jason Hollingsworth, Timothy Ryan Boykin, Dalton McEntire, Davis McEntire, Aaron Wheeler, Austin Wheeler, and Jason Boykin.
