Karen Lisa Akin, 55, of Crossett, passed away on September 1, 2016, at the Baptist Health Medical Center of Little Rock.

She was born in Crossett on September 22, 1960, and was the daughter of L.V. and Bennye Moore Rowe. She worked at the First United Methodist Church Daycare for several years, loved music, and was very active in her church, the Pine Street Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Rowe and one brother, Larry Rowe.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Fred Akin of Crossett; three daughters, Sarah Tonneson and husband Brad of Lawton, Oklahoma, Grace Durkes and husband Anthony of Crossett, and Lilian Akin also of Crossett; two brothers, Eddie Rowe of Crossett and Paul David Rowe of Monticello; and a special caring niece, Debbie Smith and husband Randy of Crossett.

A memorial service will be held on September 3 at 11 a.m. at the Pine Street Church of Christ, 301 Pine Street in Crossett with Pastor Charles Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
