The art of Kellee Mayfield and Jeanetta Darley will be on display at the Guachoya Cultural Art Center during the month of August. A reception for the artists will be held on August 4 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The public is invited and there is no admission charge.
Kellee Mayfield, a self-described artist and real-food eating, sensible-shoe wearing mother and wife, recently returned from France where she attended a plein air workshop. After the workshop, she is very excited about being outside to paint which is limited with her being a medical device representative.
Painting in oil is Mayfield’s preferred medium, but she also enjoys pastels and watercolor. Her work can be seen on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Periscope, Snapchat and on her blog, Delta Moxie.
Mayfield is a native of Oklahoma and resident of Lake Village since 2007.
Jeanetta Darley, of Conway, is an artist, blogger and sometimes homesteader. Her artwork showcases the beauty of nature both from her garden and the world around her. She and her family live on a wooded acreage where she grows a vegetable garden.
Darley works every other day at Moss Mountain Farm in Roland where she manages the One Acre Vegetable Garden and gives tours. She loves having a job that gives her inspiration for her artwork. “There are patterns in nature that are nothing but pure artwork and I do my best to recreate them,” she said.
Darley’s work can be seen at jeanettadarley.com and on Etsy.com/jeanettadarley
The Mayfield and Darley exhibit will be up through August 30. For more information, call 870-265-6077
