Kelly Reid and Don Hogue

Monticello Lions Club recognized Kelly Reid, the 2012 Monticello Fireman of the Year, at a recent Lions Club meeting where club president Don Hogue presented him a $100 check. Reid, who was selected for the honor by Monticello Fire Chief Steven Faulkner, trains fellow firemen and teaches at the Arkansas Fire Academy in Camden.

Reid also volunteers as a referee at Monticello Junior High football games. He and his wife Melissa, a kindergarten teacher at Monticello Elementary School, have two young sons.

Reid was selected for the honor from the city’s 11 full-time and 14 volunteer firefighters.
