Kenneth Dean Millerd, 82, of McGehee passed away August 15, 2021.
Kenneth was born July 22, 1939, in Jerome, the son of the late Lemuel “Pip” Millerd and Maude May Williams Millerd.
Kenneth was owner of Millerd’s Grocery Store in Arkansas City for 20 years, and served in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He loved the outdoors, he use to play golf, loved to mow his yard, coon and squirrel hunt and also worked on the farm for his son-in-law for three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma Millerd; son, Keith Millerd; two brothers, Grayson and Jess Millerd; and four sisters, Jimmie Greenway, Sylvia Reid, Vivian Martin and Glynne Overton.
Survivors are his daughter Paula (Danny) Day of Tillar; a brother, Jim Tom Millerd of Stuttgart; three grandchildren, Josh Millerd of Monticello, Nathan Millerd of Phoenix Arizona and Bradley (Allison) Day of Tillar; a great grandchild, Wells Rooks; and special friends and caretakers, Shirley and Tony Danzy and Drew Sims.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Cemetery Rev. Reuel Cruce and Rev. Dubs Byers will officiate.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dumas or Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch.
