Kenneth Donald “Donnie” Connard, Sr., 82, of Monticello, died on April 26, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Connard was the son of the late Mitchell and Nettie Groves Connard. He served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis and was retired from National Wire Plant in Star City. He was a deacon very faithful member of Cornerville Missionary Baptist Church and never missed a service.
Mr. Connard was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was very generous with his crop. He was a very loving husband, daddy and papaw.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, C.L. and Tommy Connard, three sisters, Pauline Wilmoth, Shirley Joyce Connard and Murphy Ladell Blankeship.
Mr. Connard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Viretta Ewell Connard; a son, Kenneth D. “Don” Connard, Jr. of Planterville; two daughters, Nettie Elaine Connard and husband Guy Campbell, of Monticello, Brenda Joyce Ellingsburg, and husband John, of Plantersville; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Hayden, and wife Althea, Bethany Wornick and husband Kaleb, Billie Connard, and husband Tyler Barton, Dakota Standfill, Gracie Connard and Addie Connard; one great grandchild, Asher Hayden; one sister, Reba Stark, and husband Kenneth; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at the Enon Cemetery at Rye.
