Kyle Berryman, a patrolman at the Monticello Police Department, has been selected as Monticello Policeman of the Year. Berryman was selected by Monticello Police Chief Eddy Deaton and Monticello Police Captain Carlos Garcia from a field of more than 20 officers.
Berryman’s achievements over the last 12 months far exceeded the other candidates, according to a news release from the Monticello Lions Club which recognized Berryman at an April 4 meeting. The club presented Berryman with a check for $100.
Berryman, a Monticello police officer for four years, will be promoted to serve as Monticello’s officer on the 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
Berryman and his wife, Amber, a registered nurse, have two children.
