LaFran Bates Richardson, 80, of Hamburg, died June 27, 2014 at the Pinewood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Crossett.
Mrs. Richardson was a native and a life long resident of Ashley County. She graduated from Portland High School in 1951. She was a homemaker and loved to sew, quilt and cook and was a member of the Gardner Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Richardson in 2013; her parents, Harvey and Jessie Mae Jackson Bates and a sister, Margie Bates Fuller.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Luther Richardson; a son, Keith Richardson and wife, Kathy; a daughter, Sandra Oliver and husband Mark; a special cousin, Charles Berryman, all of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Brandy Oliver, Melissa Richardson, and Ashley Tucker and husband, Cody; four great-grandchildren, Braxton, Corban, Gauge, and Mykaylynn.
Funeral services will be held June 29 at 2 p.m., at the Gardner Baptist Church with Revs. Eugene Howie and Jim Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tom McLemore, W.M. Wigley, Roger Chavis, Dennis Byrd, Jim Rush and Earl McCrory. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Ferguson and the employees of Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
