The 22nd annual Lake Chicot Fall Festival will be held this weekend, October 26-27.

The festival will feature live entertainment at the Lakefront amphitheater, the Fire on the Water community cook-offs, hayrides, a carnival, baking contest, pumpkin contest, photo contest, dog show, BMX bike show, car show, gymnastics performance, dance performance, karate demonstration, and presentation of beauty pageant winners.

Zach Day

Friday night’s entertainment will be Mary Mac & Jason, winners of the Voice of Lake Village competition in July, and Zach Day, a Delta Blues and Texas Country artist of Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

Mary Mac & Jason will perform on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  and Zach Day will perform from 8:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Both performances will be at the Lakefront Amphitheater.

The carnival will be on the banks of Lake Chicot on Friday evening and Saturday morning until the festival ends. Depending upon the weather, the carnival may be set up on Thursday as well.


Mary Mac & Jason

The Fire on the Water community cook-offs include a BBQ cook-off and a Teen Challenge burger and chicken cook-off for teens. The Grand Champion in the BBQ cook-off will receive $500 and a custom trophy. The first place winner in the teen challenge cook-off will receive $100 and a plaque. Cash prizes or plaques will be awarded to other winners. The cook-offs will be held on Friday and Saturday.

The chili cook-off will be held on Friday. The first place winner will receive $100, second place winner will receive $50, and the third place winner will receive $25.

The Lake Village Car Show will be held on Saturday. The Best of Show will receive $500. Trophies will be awarded in all categories with $100 drawings throughout the day. Winners of the car show will be announced at 2:30 p.m.

The pumpkin (carving or painting) contest will be held on Friday and the baking and photo contests will be held on Saturday. In the photo contest, festival goers will cast their votes for their favorite photo(s). The cost to cast a vote is a penny. There is no limit on the number of times a person may vote. The three winners of the photo contest will receive paid entry into the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas’ “Scenes Along the Delta Rhythm & Bayous Highway” juried photo competition.

The Dog Show will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Lakefront Amphitheater. Three winners in each of four categories will be awarded, as well as a Best of Show. Categories are: Best Large Dog, Best Small Dog, Best Tricks, and Best Costume. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $10 for each dog with the proceeds going toward the care of rescue dogs in the Chicot County Humane Shelter system.

BMX bike shows on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Coeb & The Boys, a Monticello band, will perform at noon on Saturday

Karate demonstration on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Gym Team on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Dance Stars on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Beauty pageant winners presented on Saturday at 5 p.m.

BBQ contest winners will be announced on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
