LaNelle Newton Tucker Morgan, 79 of Florence (Drew County), died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 21, 1934 in Cornerville to the late Homer and Lois Farmer Newton. She was a member of Cornerville Missionary Baptist Church and was a supervisor at Levi’s for a number of years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex husband and father of her children, Lamar Glen Tucker; two sons, Barry Glen Tucker and Robert Dewain Tucker; one daughter, Angela Camille Tucker Hoyt; a great-granddaughter, Shelby McCall Fierro; husband, Edward Morgan; two brothers, Roy Ewell Newton and Thomas Clinton Newton; and four sisters, Marguerite Newton, Sue Delle Branscumb, Maurine Collins and Margie Lavonne Slayden.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah (Billy) Ann Tucker Bolen of Star City; nine grandchildren, Brandy Lynn Tucker Wood, Barry (Sheila) Glen Tucker, Jessica (Jorge) Yvonne Tucker Fierro, all of Texas, Charity (Harold Gene) Ann Bolen Shepherd of Florence, Brady (Rachel) Bolen, Trinity (Michael) Ann Bolen Burnett, both of Star City, Jason (Jacqulyn) Lamar Hoyt, Bryan Chase Hoyt and Timothy (Lacey) Basil Hoyt, all of Star City, 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Onita Souheaver of Little Rock and Jean May of Greenbrier.
Funeral Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City with Bro. Wayne Jordan officiating.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the funeral home with burial at Cornerville Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jake Carr, John David Carr, Robert Knight, Doug Newton, Joey Knight and Steve Newton. Grandsons are honorary pallbearers.
