Laura Dell West, 74, of Parkdale, died on October 31, 2014 at the Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
Mrs. West was a native of St. Charles, Arkansas; a resident of Parkdale for the past 25 years and a former resident of Wilmot and Stuttgart. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Parkdale Baptist Church where she was president of Women’s Missionary Union, a Sunday school teacher, church clerk and pianist for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Marie Fair Dawson and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jesse Lee West, Sr.; a son, Jesse West, Jr., and wife, Christy, all of Parkdale; a daughter, Kelly Fisher and fiancé, C.F. “Bubba” Robbins of Portland; a special niece, Zada Koen and husband, Chris, of Dewitt; a brother, Billy Dawson and wife, Edna, of Ethel; three grandchildren, Brandy Ryals and husband, Enoch, of Pearidge; Dustin Fisher of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Augustus West of Wilmot; two great-grandchildren, Abby and Jake Ryals; two great-nephews, Brad Koen and wife, Kelli, of Dewitt and Clint Koen and wife, Jules, of Conway; six great-great nieces and nephews; Katie Koen, Taylor Koen, Bill Koen, Grayson Koen, Cale Koen and Siems Koen.
Funeral services will be held November 4 at 10 a.m. at the Parkdale Baptist Church with Bros. Bob Bridges and Kenny Worbington officiating. Burial will be at the Parkdale Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jerry Dawson, Bud Dawson, Bill Dawson, Larry Moon, Claude Adams and James Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Koen and Clint Koen.
