Lawrence Amos, 90, of Hamburg, died June 14, 2014 at his residence in Hamburg.
He was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Hamburg for most of his life and a former resident of Nashville, Ark.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and he was a Baptist Minister for the past 54 years.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Thomas Amos; his parents, Bill and Fannie Woods Amos and three sisters, Lena Findley, Feddie Murphy and Hildred Livingston.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Billie Hynum Amos; two sons, Larry Joe Amos and Tommy Vernon Amos all of Hamburg; five daughters, Kaye Brownen of Glen Rose, Texas; Darlene Jones of Livingston, Texas, Rita Kinsey and husband, Stephen, of Honobia, Oklahoma, Cindy Davis of China Springs, Texas and Terrie Zeigler of Hamburg; a brother, Lane Amos; a sister, Helen Knight both of Hamburg; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held June 17 at 3 p.m. at the Unity Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Lonadier and Rev. Tommy Boles officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mickey Amos, Johnny Ray Clark, Justin Clark, Tony Brownen, Steven Kinsey and Thomas Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Amos, Steven Dale Brownen, Kelley Chambers, Cody Scott and David Amos.

Visitation will be June 16 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
