Leamon Ray Craven, 78, of Lake Village, died July 16, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Miss.
He retired from Rowen Drilling Company and loved fishing and gardening. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Craven was born October 31, 1935 in Kilbourne, La. and was the son of the late Garson Craven and Jessie Hayles.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Craven; two sons, John Craven and Timothy Craven; a grandson, Christopher Craven; a granddaughter Ashley Craven; four brothers and a sister.
Survivors are his three sons, Eric Craven and wife, Carolyn of Mt. Ida, Paul Craven and wife, Misty of Houston, Texas, Ronny Craven and wife, Jerri of Monticello; a daughter, Bridget Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Jerry Craven of Gulf Port, Miss.; three sisters, Louise Hobson, Erma Nell Sampolesi, and Alice Allen all of Lake Village; 13 grandchildren, B.J. Selman, Lindsay Johnson, Whitney Johnson, Kristin Johnson, Joshua Craven, Adam Craven, Jerry Craven, Thomas Robinson Sr., Brandon Craven, Sumner Meyer, Jack Craven, Jonathan Craven, and Jessica Craven; five great-grandchildren, Maya Selman, Chloe Parrish, Annie Dees, Gannon Craven, and Thomas Robinson Jr.; a neighbor and and fishing buddy, Jesse Newton and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held July 19 at 10 a.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home.
Visitation is July 18 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
