Lena Floriani Sampoalesi, 97, of Lake Village died on November 25, 2018, at her home in Lake Village. She was the bookkeeper for E. T. Cashion Insurance for more than 40 years, a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the 2003 Woman of the Year, co-owner of Sam’s Feed and Seed, a long time member of the Lake Village Chamber of Commerce and the Our Lady of the Lake Altar Society.
Mrs. Sampoalesi was born on October 16, 1921, at Lake Village and was the daughter of the late Ben and Julia (Scucchi) Floriani, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Sampoalesi; three brothers, Herbert, Joe, and Ben Floriani; and two sisters, Rose Mary Jenkins, and Katherine Rowe Casali.
She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 27, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m, in the Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel with rosary following at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village with Father Aaron Williams as celebrant. Interment will be at the St. Isidore Cemetery in Lake Village, under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village.
