Leon Youngblood, 75, of Monticello, passed away on January 29, 2018, at Belle View Nursing Home in Monticello.
He was born on June 29, 1942 to the late Doris Daniels and Jake Youngblood.
Mr. Youngblood was an outgoing, sharp dresser, who loved to dance. He took pride in everything that he did and always drove the cleanest vehicles. He was a devoted husband and father, a hard worker, and believed nothing in life came easy. He had many jobs during his lifetime including the Wilson Mill, Burlington Rug Mill for 13 years, and his final employment with the City of Monticello. He was a foster parent for 10 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, JD Daniels, and three brothers, George C. Youngblood, Horace and Evan Daniels.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Janette Kaye Youngblood; three sons, Rodney (Ruby) Ferrell of Wilmar, Alonzo Youngblood of Lacey and Armon Youngblood of Lacey; a brother, John Henry Daniels of Hamburg; a sister, Dorothy Daniels of Monticello; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, at 11 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow at the Lacey Cemetery.
