Leonard Michael “Mike” Barnett

Leonard Michael Barnett, 49, of Crossett, passed away on September 5, 2020, at the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born on October 24, 1970, was a lifetime resident of Crossett, and a 1989 graduate of Crossett High School.

After high school, Mike received a small engine repair certification from the Louisiana Technical College and worked in the construction industry. He later began a career with Rexel Industrial Supply as their warehouse manager, along with becoming a licensed insurance agent, and delivering Shopper’s Guide newspapers. Mike always dreamed of new business ventures and eventually started a “hot shot” business with his mother, delivering much needed items to the mills.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and mud riding with his friends. He was a people person who never met a stranger and loved chatting with whoever he met.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norris and Margaret Barnett, Roy Rice, and Kathrain Forrest.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Keith and Clara Barnett; his mother, Debbie Barnett; and one brother, Wade Barnett, all of Crossett; a stepbrother, Barry Buchner of Villonia, and a stepsister, Mechelle Buchner Winslow of Little Rock; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Unity Cemetery Fund.

There are no services scheduled at this time.
