Leroy A. “Billy” Forrest, 84, passed away on November 25, 2016 at Lincoln Heights Nursing Home in Star City.
He was born on June 4, 1932 to the late William “Cap” Forrest and Clara Chisom Forrest.
He was a retired boat builder for Dura Craft and SEARK Boats, a member of the Army National Guard and a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Forrest, Cecil Forrest and Bobby Forrest.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Griffin Forrest of Monticello; a son, Randy Forrest of Monticello; two daughters, Janet Hollingsworth and husband Butch of Palm Bay, Florida and Judy Williams and husband Kent of Sheridan; one sister, Virginia Barnett of Monticello; one granddaughter, Amanda Phelps and husband Andy of Gainsville, Florida; one grandson, Jason Knight and wife Summer of Sheridan; five great grandchildren, Hailey, Braden, Phoenix, Averi and Keelie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on November 27 at 3 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. preceding the service.
