Limuel M. Terrell, Sr., 96, of Little Rock, formerly of the Rock Springs community in Drew County, passed away on August 17, 2015 at his home in Little Rock.
Mr. Terrell was a United States Army veteran who served his country with distinction during World War II and The Korean War. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Silver Star, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), and earned three battle stars.
He was a longtime member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church and later a member of the Bryant Family Church in Bryant. He was very active in his church for many years. Along with his church activities, Mr. Terrell enjoyed gardening.
He was born July 6, 1919 in Kokomo, Mississippi and was the son of the late Plumer B. Terrell and Courtney A. Ratliff Terrell.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hickerson Terrell; his son, Limuel M. Terrell, Jr. who was killed in active duty in the Vietnam War; a brother and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, two daughters, three stepsons, one stepdaughter, one brother, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be on August 20 at 1 p.m. at Rock Springs Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements by Stephenson Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice Angels or the Rock Springs United Methodist Church.
