A Monticello man has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $1,000 in cash and items from JP’s Liquor store where he was employed, according to a news release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.
William Leeper, 33, was arrested on June 12, following an investigation into the alleged theft of money and items from the Drew County liquor store. Leeper was an employee at the store during the time money and items came up missing, according to the news release.
He is also suspected of breaking and entering the liquor store where someone entered the building through the roof and took merchandise from a cooler.
District Court Judge Ken Harper set Leeper’s bond at $2,500 on June 13. He was released on bond the same day.
