Log A Load for Kids is a nationwide giving campaign through which the forestry community contributes to Arkansas Children’s Hospital raising $6.85 million over the last 20 years.

It started in 1988 when a South Carolina logger and the Medical University of South Carolina teamed up to raise funds for the local Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospital. The initial idea behind the event was for loggers to donate the value of a load of logs to a local Children’s Miracle Network affiliated hospital. That idea evolved into an auction where foresters try to outbid their local competitors for the logs donated. Live auctions, silent auctions, and raffles are also a major part of the event.
