Lois Virginia Strickland Adams, 85, of Lake Village, passed away on August 29, 2017 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
She was born May 30, 1932 at Montrose and was the daughter of the late Walter Albert “Pete” and Elnora Lynn Strickland. She loved fishing and working with her flowers. She was of the Assembly of God faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Adams; a son, Charles Dale Adams; five brothers, Vernon Sr., Buford, Charles, R.G., and Donald Strickland, and two sisters, Audrey Nita Hill and Jewel Cherry.
She is survived by two sons, Walter (Linda) Adams and Dwight (Lynn) Adams both of Lake Village; five daughters, Shirley (Randal) Carpenter of Fountain Hill, Linda (Randall Sr.) Harrod of Lake Village, Darnell (Lynn) Sherland of Lake Village, Lana (Wayne) Johnson of Lake Village, and Eula Mae (Johnathan Shane) Hall of Lake Village; three sisters, Barbara Carpenter of Fountain Hill, Joyce Cessor of Hot Springs, and Sandra Smith of Kelso; 28 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, at 10 a.m. at Lake Village Assembly in Lake Village with Bro. Marty Tackett officiating.
