Lois Wood Vest, 83, of Monticello, passed away on March 12, 2016 at her home.
She was born October 6, 1932 in Ashley County and was the daughter of the late Guy Wood and Mary Sharp Wood.
She was the widow of Lloyd Vest, a retired sales clerk for Sterling Stores and a member of East Side Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wood and a sister, Mary Vest.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Wood and wife Glenda of Hamburg, William L. Vest, Jr. and wife Joyce of Monticello and Randall Vest of Monticello; one daughter, Guylene Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Frances Jean Tate of Mountain Home and Ella Worrell of Houston, Texas; four granddaughters, Leigh Ashley Vest, Heather Vest, Randi Rae Vest and Cheyenne Tucker; five great grandchildren, Courtlyn, Damien, Gracie, Landon and Drake; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on March 15 at 11 a.m. at Union Ridge Cemetery by Rev. Zan Pierce. Visitation is March 14 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
