Louise Barnett Russell, 96, of Monticello, passed away October 14, 2020 at Drew Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 27, 1924, in Monticello to the late Ralph E. Barnett and Jessie Nowlen Barnett.
She was retired from Arkla Gas (Centerpoint). Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, watching Razorback football. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Russell and a sister, Nadine Crawford.
Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Russell Jenkins of Monticello and Jane Russell Harrison and husband Ben of Monticello; one brother, Donald R. Barnett and wife Linda of Monticello; two sisters, Kay Ozment and husband David of Monticello and Reba Howell of Bryant; three grandchildren, Jeff Hudgens and wife Milca, Jennifer West Boren and husband Tommy, and Maranda West McEntire and husband Kevin; eight great grandchildren, Ty, West and Mari Russell Boren, Kamryn, Kel and Bree McEntire, Jeffery Hudgens and expectant great grandchild Grace Hudgens; along with a host of nieces and nephews that she also loved greatly.
Funeral services following Covid-19 guidelines will be Sunday, October 18, at 3 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Ralph Wells and Rev. Tim McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Monticello.
