Louise S. Coody, 90, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
She was born in Hamburg on July 1, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Rena Sweeney. She was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, quilting, reading and visiting with family and friends. She worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory and the fabric department at Wal-Mart for many years where she enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Coody and one son, Johnnie Dale Coody.
She is survived by one son, James Coody and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Sandra Bradshaw, Ladale Collins, Janelle Coody, Jonathan Coody, and Monica Rogers; and one sister, Florence Craig; along with seven great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 19 at Egypt Missionary Baptist Church with pastors Jerry Carter and Keith Rose officiating. Burial will be at Daily Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Tony Craig, John Laing, Bobby Kilcrease, Daryl Morgan, Terry Livingston, and Joe Livingston. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Livingston, Jimmy Craig, L.M. Stewart, J.R. Jeffress, and Frank Moffatt.
Visitation will be from 2-3:00 prior to the service.
