Loy Dean “Chip” Hicks II, 48, of Dermott, passed away on December 18, 2019.
He was born on September 28, 1971 in Little Rock to Loy Dean Hicks, Sr. and the late Shirley Virginia Sledge Hicks.
Mr. Hicks attended Dermott public schools. He worked for KVSA Radio Station for a few years and worked as a police officer for many years at McGehee, Dermott and Arkansas City. For a short time he served as the chief of police at Arkansas City. He also worked several years as a correctional officer for the Arkansas Department of Corrections. He was a member of Dermott Baptist Church and he loved to hunt and fish.
Other than his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Nelson Hicks.
Survivors include his father, Loy D. Hicks, Sr. and his wife, Ann Davis Hicks; sons, Chase Hicks and Bradley Hicks of Dermott; a sister, Andrea Dawn Hicks of Dermott; a nephew, Owen Cook of Little Rock; numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
