Luther “Luke” Clark, 87, of Crossett, passed away on September 19, 2014 at his residence.
He retired from Georgia Pacific Paper after 46 years of service and was a United States Air Force veteran, having served in WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 9360.
Mr. Clark was a member of Wallers Chapel United Methodist Church for 70 years, where he served as chairman of the administration board and Sunday School superintendent.
He was born on June 24, 1927 in Jonesboro and was the son of the late Luther Nathanial and Iva Lee Stinson Clark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and 14 brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ione Clark of Crossett; a daughter, Lea Ann Shivers (Colvin) of Crossett; a brother, Sherman Clark of Downsville, Louisiana; two sisters, Margaret Tonore of Monroe, Louisiana and Lavada Griffith of West Monroe, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Whitney Gill (Chris) of Crossett, Courtney Ferebee (Parker)of Bullard, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Bryson, Alissa, and Cole.
Funeral services will be September 21 at 2 p.m. at Wallers Chapel United Methodist Church with Bros. Toby Austin and Glen Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
