Mack ‘Cotton’ Tomerlin, 74, of Hamburg, died May 18, 2014 at the Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, La.
Mr. Tomerlin was a native of Wilmar and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a pulp wood logger for many years then worked for Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 20 years in the Plywood Mill. He retired in 2003.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Tomerlin Kemp in 1983; his parents: Mack and Ruby Gifford Tomerlin; a brother, Kenneth Wayne Tomerlin and a sister, Connie Sue Tomerlin.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Streeter Tomerlin; a son, William Patrick Tomerlin; two daughters, Katherine Stone and Connie Jo Scott and husband, Jeff, a brother, Gerald Tomerlin and wife, Patsy, all of Hamburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held May 20 at 10 a.m. at the Judson Cemetery with Bro. James Thompson officiating.
Pallbearers are Johnny Bussell, Christopher Tomerlin, Dale Streeter, Eddie McGathy, Mark Tomerlin and Randy Streeter. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Dean Savage, Brian Rabb, Randy Tomerlin and Jimmy Don Stafford.
