The Arkansas Immunization Action Coalition, with funding from the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas, recently awarded Mainline Health Systems, Inc. a grant for its Star City Elementary School Clinic.
The $876 grant will be used to purchase a refrigerator and a data logger thermometer to provide immunizations for adolescents. The items will be purchased immediately and be fully operational May 1.
“We are excited and thankful for this opportunity to serve the whole Star City School District,” said Lacy Nowlen, director of nursing.
Vaccines are already available for students at Star City High School. With this grant, Mainline can purchase the equipment necessary to provide immunization services to the elementary school as well.
The Arkansas Immunization Action Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose purpose is to raise awareness of vaccine preventable diseases, educate health care providers, and be a source of information and expertise about immunizations.
