Mainline Health Systems, Inc. will soon open the doors to its new community-based health center in Rison. It is Mainline’s seventh community-based medical clinic in Southeast Arkansas.

The clinic will open on Dec. 26 and be staffed by three health care providers and staff providing medical, lab, X-ray, case management and social services. New services will be added as needed. Need will be determined by utilization and patient surveys.

Mainline-Rison will be located at 505 Sycamore Street in a clinic currently operated by Jefferson Comprehensive Care which recently announced plans that it is leaving Rison. After Jefferson Comprehensive Care announced its plans, Mainline was asked to consider going to Rison, according to Brittany Sears, Mainline’s marketing director.

In keeping with Mainline’s mission to provide the highest quality healthcare to all people in Southeast Arkansas, regardless of ability to pay, Mainline’s board of directors saw the need and determined that Mainline could and should help.

“Mainline is very excited about this opportunity,” said Mainline CEO Allan Nichols. “We appreciate the trust bestowed upon us and look forward to serving the people of Cleveland County. We are driven to be the best we can be, to improve everyday, and to treat our patients like family. Many people have put hundreds of hours into making this happen and we plan to make sure they are proud of the work they have done.”

The clinic will be open on Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. until noon. Mainline plans to begin seeing patients on December 26. Patients may call 870-367-6246 to make an appointment.

Mainline currently has community-based clinics in Dermott, Eudora, Monticello, Portland, Star City and Wilmot and school-based health clinics in the Dermott, Drew Central, Hamburg, Lake Village, and Star City school districts.
