The search for a Pine Bluff man involved in a traffic accident in a stolen vehicle ended two hours later when he was arrested in a wooded area on Old Highway 13, north of Monticello, according to Monticello Police Chief Eddy Deaton.
Chad Hubanks, age unavailable, of Pine Bluff, is facing a drug possession charge and a felon in possession of a firearm charge, Deaton said.
Other charges are possible.
The traffic accident occurred shortly before noon on U.S. 425 North, near Cablevision. Before police arrived at the scene of the accident, a witness spotted Hubanks running into a nearby wooded area.
Police and Arkansas Department of Correction dogs searched wooded areas off U.S. 425 North for about two hours until the Monticello Apprehension and Response Team located Hubanks in a wooded area on Old Highway 13.
He was taken to Drew Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for yellow jacket stings, according to Deaton. “He had yellow jacket stings on his upper torso,” Deaton said.
