A Monticello man died Monday as a result of injuries sustained on November 19 when the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a car.

Britt Eubank, 66, of Monticello was traveling west on a 2009 Yamaha on U.S. 278 East near Jenkins Store before stopping for traffic to clear to make a left turn into Jenkins gas station. The Yamaha was struck from the rear by a westbound Volkswagen. The driver of the Volkswagen stated that she did no see the Yamaha due to the glare from headlights and street lights, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.

Mr. Britt was taken to a hospital emergency room. He died 10 days later.

The accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. on November 19. The weather clear and the roadway was dry.

At least 583 people have been killed on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
