A North Little Rock man who was accidentally shot at a Drew County deer camp on Saturday is expected to recover, according to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober.

John Clark, 51, of North Little Rock, suffered a gunshot wound to his right hip when a fellow camp member was showing Clark’s son how to load and operate a .45 caliber muzzleloader.

The accident occurred on the porch of a deer camp located on Rash Crossing east of Monticello in the Enon area.

Clark was transported from the scene of the accident to JRMC by AirEvac. The gunshot is not believed to be life threatening and Clark is expected to recover, Gober said.
