Original Story (Tuesday Morning)
A manhunt is underway in Southeast Arkansas for an inmate who escaped Tuesday morning shortly before 8:30 a.m. while working in a cornfield near the Delta Regional Unit in Dermott.
After escaping, Robert Woodward, 46, is believed to have stolen a white 2013 Ford F-250 hauling a green John Deere tractor from a nearby gas station. The vehicle has an Arkansas license plate with the number 764UZM.
He is described as a white male approximately 6-feet, one inch in height and weighing about 226 pounds. He wears eyeglasses.
If you see the vehicle or the escapee authorities ask that you do not approach the man. Instead, contact your local law enforcement agency. In Chicot County call 870-265-8020 or call 911.
Woodward, who was arrested in January after leading police on a vehicle chase in Little Rock, was serving an eight-year sentence for fleeing.
At the time of his January arrest, he reportedly was wanted on felony warrants from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia for a variety of charges including escape, assault with a weapon, and assault on a law enforcement officer.
