Margaret Frances McCuan Carter, 89, of White Hall, died March 14, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas and was retired from Sunbeam Manufacturing in Dumas.

Mrs. Carter was born October 10, 1927 in Kingsland and was the daughter of the late Frank and Alma Jarrett McCuan.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, William Eugene Carter; grandson, Lance Carter; and two brothers, Robert McCuan and Travis Wayne McCuan.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Carter and Glenn Carter, both of White Hall; three daughters, Beverly Spurgin of Pace, Florida, Linda Carol Walz of Star City and Mary White of Monticello; a brother, Louie McCuan of Dumas; a sister, Patricia McCuan of Dumas; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on March 18 at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bro. Dennis Carrow officiating. Visitation is March 17 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Holly Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Terry Manning, Chris White, Les Walz, Matthew Carter, Stephen Berry, Kristin Jarratt and April Berry.
