Margaret Rose Alexander

Margaret Rose Alexander, 86, of Crossett, passed away on June 20, 2016, at the Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett.

She was a lifelong resident of Ashley County and a devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Many remember her from Norman Junior High School where she worked from 1972 until she retired in 2000 as the school secretary. She had a very kind and warm personality which impacted everyone whose path she crossed and was a true friend to all who knew her. She was a Christian matriarch to her family, whom she loved dearly, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Alexander was born on February 23, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Roy and Rosie May Moore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewel Wayman Alexander and one brother, LeRoy Moore.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Alexander and wife Shannon of Crossett and Bruce Allen Alexander and wife Marcia of Hamburg; a brother, Billy Ralph Moore and wife Betty of Chatman, Louisiana; a sister, Linda Stell and husband Charles of Crossett; two granddaughters, Angie Alexander of Plainview, Texas and Hollie Alexander Smith and husband Colt of Hamburg; two grandsons, Glenn Brice Alexander and wife Kayla of Hamburg and Zachary Sinclair Alexander, of Hamburg; four great-grandchildren, Cambree and Cash Alexander and Arabella and Alexandra Smith all of Hamburg; and two sister-in-laws, Dorothy Nell Moore of Pineville, Louisiana and DeLois O’Steen West and husband Herman of Corpus Christi, Texas.

A funeral service will be held on June 25 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1533 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett, with Bro. Billy Ralph Moore officiating with Bro. David Tohlen assisting. Burial will be at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.

Pallbearers are Gary Moore, Jerry Stell, Glen Stell, Mark Moore, David Moore, and Colt Smith with Larry Moore as an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation is June 24 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. the funeral home.
