Margie Sue Moreland Hill, 92 of Dumas, passed away on August 10, 2019 in Dumas.
She was born September 26, 1926 in Lonoke to the late Theodore R. and Fannie Pearl Chambers Moreland.
She was a member of Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church in Winchester, a homemaker and was a very active member of her church. She was in the Hopedale Ladies Auxiliary, Tiny Tots Sunday School and Bible school teacher for more than 50 years. She was a fabulous cook and loved to cook for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dwight Lee Hil; and five brothers; Pete, Tommy, Ame, Neal and Carl.
Survivors are her loving husband of 74 years Max Hill of Dumas; a son, Hal Hill wife Sherry of Dumas; a daughter, Marilyn Ann Martin husband Ted of Dumas; a daughter-in-law, Betty Hill of Monticello; two brothers; Wayne “Peanut” Moreland of McGehee and Marlie Moreland of Watson; four sisters; Betty Thompson of McGehee, Brenda Morgan of McGehee, Glenda Ward of McGehee, and Debbie Robinson of White Hall; grandchildren, Kevin Hill, Kirk Hill, Kenny Martin, Brian Martin, Greg Martin, Brad Hill, Mandy James and James Hill; and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, at 10 a.m. at Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church in Winchester with Rev. Freddie McCann and Rev. Johnie Brewster officiating. Burial will be at Hopedale cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
