Mark Michael Pasterniak passed from this life on March 5, 2022, at his home in Monticello.

He was born October 2, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Joseph Frank Pasterniak and Helen Ann Turchi Pasterniak.

He leaves a legacy of education, love of children and learning, always doing the right thing, being there for those he loved, and saying the most off the wall things the moment could call for.

Mark was a man of integrity who did what needed to be done. He took care of his family and was always there for them. He was a brother, father, pop pop, and school teacher. He loved to walk, run and distance bike ride, once riding from Arkansas Post to McGehee for a fun Sunday morning. He loved to collect all manner of curious items and was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. He was selfless and stubborn, and so so loved by his family. Mark also loved music and playing his guitar along with spending time with his grandkids. He was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Pasterniak and husband Caleb Burger, his grandchildren, Autumn Murray-Pasterniak and Norah Burger all of El Dorado and Jennifer Nicolle (Nikki) Holloway of Austin, Texas; sister, Nancy Ward of Little Rock; two brothers, David Pasterniak and wife Brenda and Bob Pasterniak and wife Mary of Leeland, North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. The service celebrating his life will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
