Market in the Park, the farmer’s market in Monticello, will have a pop-up market on Saturday, April 30 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Monticello Coffee Company to prepare for the 2022 season. This pop-up market is the first of several planned for the growing season in addition to the regular market.
Market in the Park Farmers’ Market and More officially opens on Saturday, May 7 at the Foss Mini-Park on South Main Street next to the railroad tracks. Opening day will feature the Spring Arts and Crafts Market Festival and the Master Gardener Plant Sale. Hours on May 7 will be extended to 1 p.m.
The Market this year will be open to produce peddlers in the area as well as local gardeners, producers, and crafters. Booth space fees this year are $25 for a seasonal booth or $10 for a one-time booth space. Nonprofits (churches, civic groups, Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, 4-H) may set up at no charge.
All vendors and exhibitors must complete an application and pay fees prior to first market appearance. Check the availability of produce or crafts at the Market each week on the Market in the Park Facebook page on Fridays after 5p.m.
Market in the Park Farmers’ Market and More requires that produce sold be raised by the vendor and/or the produce source identified from produce peddlers. Craft items must be handcrafted locally. Homemade items must follow Cottage Home Guidelines from the Arkansas Department of Health, that includes a label listing ingredients and the producer’s name and address.
Applications for booth space at Market in the Park are available at Monticello/Drew County Chamber of Commerce or by calling Glenda Nichols at the Chamber 367-6741. Applications must be completed and fees paid at least seven days before setting up a booth. Last year’s vendors may update contact information by calling the Chamber and paying booth fee, no need to complete a new application.
