Marnette Moore Jaggers, 97 of Dumas passed away on October 10 at Trinity Village in Pine Bluff.
She was born on May 8, 1922 in Dumas to the late Fate and Nettie Carter Moore.
Mrs. Jaggers was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Jack Jaggers; sons, Robert and Don Jaggers; brothers, Elbert and John Moore; sister, Roxie Selman; granddaughter, Robin Jaggers and daughter-in-law, Mary Lynn Jaggers.
She is survived by two sons, Kenny Jaggers and wife, Sherry of Benton and Jerry Jaggers of Dumas; sister, Martha Kilcrease of Spring, Texas and daughter-in-law, Pat Jaggers of Jackson, Mississippi; and 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jaggers was fun-loving and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Besides spending time with family, her favorite past times were crocheting afghans for family and friends and working in her yard. She was known around town for her beautiful beds full of azaleas. People would often stop by to take pictures, and she won “Yard of the Month” quite a few times. She was a wonderful cook and as a mother of four boys, she did quite a lot of it.
Mrs. Jaggers was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 14 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Julius Carter officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery.
