Martha A. Cornelius, 87, of Warren, passed away on February 1, 2017 at the Woods Nursing Home at Monticello.
She was born on November 23, 1929 in Lewisville, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Alton Cap Daugherty and Myrtle Redmon Daugherty.
Mrs. Cornelius was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved her church and always said it was the most beautiful church in town. She was the loving wife of the late Jack Cornelius, whom she married October 6, 1949 in Magnolia.
In addition to her parents and husband, was preceded in death by three sisters, Geanette Ford Cochran, Maxie Welbourn and Jennie Lovell.
She is survived by three daughters, Lesa Oldham and hsuband James of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Jackie Clark and husband Bart of Cabot, and Linda Smith and husband Lawrence of Monticello; seven grandchildren, Michael, Rachel, Gregory, Wayne, Walter, Jennifer and Jayson; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on February 5, at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Gary Harrison officiating.
